Crochet camera strap cover

Crochet camera strapI followed The Hippy Hooker’s free Camera Strap Cover tutorial and I’m happy with the results. The tutorial was easy to follow and the repetitive rows for the majority of the strap were nice and easy to do while watching a movie or two.

I used Lincraft’s Supersoft 8ply yarn (50% micro acrylic/50% micro nylon, 50g/100m) and a 4mm (US6) hook.

Looking at the pictures afterwards I realise I should have made it a little bit longer because the tutorial’s photos show the crochet covering the end pieces of the camera strap. I had kept checking the fit until the ends of the tube hugged the tops of the strap ends. Oh well, it still feels comfortable and will now keep the camera strap’s logo is hidden (I’ve developed a habit of turning the logo towards my neck because it feels strange to be branding my neck with the camera manufacturer’s name). Success!
